Poodle Anatomy & Proportion 101 (Poodle Part One)

The difference between a creating a trim that is ‘pleasant & correct’ and a trim that transforms a dog into awe-inspiring perfection begins with a solid understanding of anatomy & proportion.
We’ll break down canine anatomy into the parts responsible for the various proportions that make up the outline. We’ll learn how to practically apply that knowledge to better understand breed-specific trims, how to assess the structure of a dog, and how to create a trim that showcases a dog’s virtues – and minimises his faults!

My goals for the hour are to teach the tools & tricks I’ve learnt to critically evaluate dogs, and to spread some knowledge of canine terminology – so everyone leaves more confident in their ability to speak Dog…!

Holy DOODLE

We can all agree that Doodles are here to stay! These dogs can be challenging for groomers for many reasons. This is the first time that we have had a ‘breed’ in our industry that has taken over the new client list ten fold. With so many sizes and coat textures, it is impossible to handle each client the same.

In this seminar, Barb will cover different coat types, haircuts, pricing and more.
Heck- at least we can all agree that they are a huge money maker if quotes and time saving techniques come into play. They really are a lovable breed all around.

Face, Feet’n’Tail 101  (Poodle Part Three)

Long, long ago… in a salon far, far away… there were no Oodles. And groomer’s main source of income was… Poodles. We became very proficient at clipping feet & faces – because our survival in the industry depended on it. These days there’s a lot of fear & loathing of Poodle Feet…! I’ll be demonstrating some Old School basic techniques to get you zipping through the job quickly, safely & efficiently – and with a beautiful finish.

My goal is for you to love clipping feet (and if that’s a bit ambitious, I’ll be happy if you can at least learn to find it peculiarly satisfying…!)
